Cup of Coffee

"Received my bag the other day,

it's fantastic coffee and tastes great."

About Us

The lockdowns that were imposed on us in recent years took a financial and psychological toll on many. In our household, the impact landed hard on my son.

He could no longer attend in-person job training for adults with disabilities. He sat in front of computer screens watching Zoom classes which were both pointless and aggravating.

He used to work alongside his aide at local businesses which gave him the opportunity to feel productive and useful. That was no longer an option.

I had been working from home for thirteen years prior to Covid and was accustomed to solitude.  In April 2020, I abruptly gave notice, ending my 25 year career in software, to pursue a new purpose.

I started thinking about businesses I could start where I could include my son. The kid had a great work ethic, and he was eager.

The idea of coffee was one I had been formulating for years. I’ve been drinking a pot a day of the stuff ever since I was a kid in the Army, and like alcohol and lottery tickets, people consume coffee in even the worst of times.

I consulted with my two partners in Malone who supported the idea and decided to help fund the venture. I recruited a buddy who has been in the coffee roasting business for the past several years. He also has a special needs son, and liked what I was proposing.

I really admired his seriousness and dedication to the craft. He's akin to Walter White of Breaking Bad fame. He loved roasting coffee, and we were exceptional salesmen. Win-win situation. Walter White meets Saul Goodman.

My son is now a master coffee pod sealer. We make deliveries, attend fairs and festivals, and take pride in the fact that we sell the best damn coffee in the region.
